Is Hydra Crystal safe to use with fish and wildlife

How long does it take to work
Within 30 minutes Hydra Crystal will start clearing your water - a large water body will take about 24 hours to clear. The mineral structure of Hydra Crystal will sink to the bottom where your filtration system will remove it. If no filter is present then the particles will slowly disintegrate over time at the bottom.
When I added Crystal my water went brown
When you add Hydra Crystal to water, the water goes brown initially this is due to the minerals in the product absorbing the algae, this is quite harmless and will clear once all the algae has been absorbed.
Can I use this treated water for irrigation
It is safe to use this water on plants and grass, there is no waiting time before using the water.
Initial Dose
The initial dose for Crystal is 1:12,500.
Maintenance Dose
Use Hydra Crystal at 1:50,000.
Measuring Spoon
Each tub 800 gm and 3.5 kilo tub of Hydra Crystal contains a 30 ml blue measuring spoon - each level spoonful = 30 gms of product.
How long to leave before retreating (if it does not clear on the first application)
Usually Hydra Crystal will usually clear the green algae cells on its first application, but in cases of heavy investation a second treatment may be necessary. In 2nd treatment use at the initial dosage rate and you can retreat water after 24 hours.
Maintenance Dose
You can either maintenance dose at 1:50,000 every month or leave it until your water starts to become cloudy / green which would depend on your individual ponds balance i.e.
1. Number of fish to size of water body.
2. Amount of food being given to fish.
3. Whether fertilizer run off is coming from surrounding ground / grass areas.
4. Amount of plant life in water body to absorb nutrients i.e. phosphates, nitrates etc.
5. Each water body is a unique eco system - once it is in balance it would not be necessary
to add additional Hydra Crystal.
Balance Your Pond with Nitrifying Bacteria
The reason you have had a problem with your pond is because its natural balance is off line - i.e. you have more nutrients than the ponds natural bacteria can breakdown, this is a very common problem after winter.
Once you have got rid of the problem, the answer is to use
Hydra Bio Aquatic
its natural bacteria will consume excessive nutrients keeping your pond in a natural balance with nature.
Overdosing
Whilst Hydra Crystal is a very safe product we would not recommend overdosing as you would be wasting your money, however we have tested it at 1:5,000 and found that it was still safe to aquatic life. Once the water is clear there is no need to re-dose unless you are using the maintenance program.

Just to say that I have tried many products but to no avail, except O'clear which I could no longer find, but your product was excellent. Within 20 minutes my pond was clear and it was very satisfying to actually see my fish. I have had my pond for 10 years and in that time the fish have multiplied considerably, too many for the pond, and this is probably why I had the algae problem. The local pet shop offered to buy some fish from me but I could not stand the thought of them being in a gold fish bowl. However this is not a problem now that I have your product. I have also constructed another small pond to cater for the overflow.

Just wanted to thank you for your excellent service. Your communication is excellent. My products arrived this morning. My pond is very out of balance, since we were flooded two years ago I haven't been able to get my pond water clear, it is a very murky brown colour despite me adding numerous oxygenating plants. If my fish are swimming near the surface it is nearly impossible to see them, that is how murky it is. I added Hydra Crystal this morning, went out for 2 hours when I came back I could see half way down into the pond. I don't know how much clearer it is now as I have been out and got back after dark. I am looking forward to the morning so I can see how much clearer it is I will be recommending your products and service to all my friends who have ponds - Julie.
